The first time I heard of caramel cake, was when my dad told me it was his favorite cake. My aunt always bakes him a pound cake and then puts caramel icing on it. When I made this recipe for my daddy’s birthday I baked a simple three-layer cake. My dad said the icing was perfect.

Easy Caramel Cake Recipe
This delicious fluffy yellow and sweet-tasting cake with caramel icing will melt in your mouth like cotton candy.
Ingredients
Method
- Cream together the butter, crisco, and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add milk and flour, alternately, beating well.
- Add vanilla
- Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until done- cool and frost.
- Caramel Frosting in a pot combine butter and brown sugar.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Boil for 2 minutes
- Add milk and return to boil
- Remove from heat, and let stand until cool
- Slowly beat in confectioner sugar and vanilla
- Beat until thick enough to spread on layers
